Mission & Purpose

OneSight is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing vision care to the entire world in our lifetime. Since 1988, OneSight has helped over 14 million people see clearly in 46 countries.

Our purpose: To fuel people’s potential by helping them see clearly.

Our vision: A world where access to vision care is no longer a barrier to human achievement.

Our Mission

  • To restore and preserve clear vision to the over 300 million adults and children worldwide who suffer from poor vision.
  • To protect those in high risk areas from developing vision impairment from sun-related exposure.

Services

Anyone who can’t see clearly should be able to get the help they need. So OneSight sets up short-term and long-term solutions to make sure that happens—not just for today but for decades to come.

Short-Term Solutions Charitable Clinics

OneSight leads one to two week long vision care clinics where volunteers hand-deliver much needed free eye care and eye wear through temporary clinics and mobile vision vans globally and regionally.

Voucher Program

These are designed to provide free vision screenings, eye exams and glasses to adults and children who do not otherwise have access. The program operates nationally through a network of community partners who identify those in need through local awareness and vision screening events.

Eligibility

OneSight’s voucher program partners with local nonprofits like Lion’s Club and Prevent Blindness to establish financial and visual need. Then patients in need are referred to OneSight’s network of participating eye care professionals who provide free eye exams and glasses.
Long-Term Solutions Sustainable Centers

OneSight has pioneered the development of sustainable vision-care models that provide permanent access to affordable, high-quality vision care to millions in need in communities across African and Asia-Pacific. These initiatives are long-term investments — permanent clinics for those who lack access to affordable, quality care. We train local people to run them. We work with the country to build manufacturing labs to ensure the local community can be self-sufficient.

School-Based Vision Centers

OneSight’s school-based vision-center program is designed to empower local communities in developed markets like the U.S. with a sustain-able solution to close the vision- care gap by taking advantage of existing health care infrastructure like public health insurance and community spaces in schools.
